Nancy Guyette Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc. - Canandaigua on Jun. 28, 2025.
Canandaigua – Nancy A. Guyette, age 79, left us peacefully, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Brent Gerstner; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Meaghan Gerstner; her companion, Claude Schrader; and grandpets, Java and Khi. She was predeceased by her husband, John C. Guyette in 2008.

Nancy was born and raised in Rochester and was the daughter of Michael and Olga Wasylishyn. She was a graduate of Nazareth Academy (high school) and earned her bachelor's degree from Nazareth College. Nancy and John married on September 7, 1968 in Rochester. She worked as a legal accountant at Chase Bank for many years.

Sweet Grandma Nancy had a heart full of sunshine and a soul that found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. Her happiest days were spent at the lake, swimming and laying in the sun. Nancy loved her family more than anything. She lit up when her precious Alex and Meaghan were near and Nancy's arms were always open for a hug, a story or a quiet moment just spent together. She was the kind of mom and grandmother who made you feel like you were the most special person in the world, because to her, you were.

Her legacy is one of kindness and warmth. Nancy always had a smile on her face, even at the very end. Rest easy Grandma Nancy, you were sunshine to us all.

Her celebration of life will be held Friday, July 25, from 2-5pm, at Bristol Harbour Community Center, 30 Golfside Circle, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Memorial contributions may be made to Light Hill (comfort care home), 5160 Parrish St., Ext., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
