Nancy Lou Haler

Dublin – Nancy Lou Haler, 74, of Dublin, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at her home on the night of December 10th, 2025. Known as "Nance" by many of her family and friends, she was truly one of a kind. Nance was born on April 23rd, 1951, in New Castle, Indiana. She fought tooth and nail for everyone in her life and loved fiercely. In her formative years, she grew up in the little farm town of Otwell, Pike County, Indiana, where she spent a lot of time with her grandparents and her sister and best friend, Sierra. Once she was old enough, she moved to Milton, Indiana where she lived with her father. During that time, she made friends and memories that would last a lifetime. She married the late Russell Dwain Haler on June 29, 1985, at their home in Pennville, Indiana. She was a big believer in the universe and God and is now reunited with her love and best friend, "Rusty."

Left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters, Shay and Shanna (future son-in-law, Corey Scharbrough) Haler; her precious grandsons, Layden Allison and Hunter Arnold; 3 sisters Sierra Godwin, Linda Davis and Pamela (Custer) Chaney; 2 brothers, John Godwin and Gregory Custer; best friend of 40 years, Sherry Connor.

She's preceded in death by her parents, Morris D. Godwin and Olive June (Hunt) Custer; her husband of 35 years, Russell "Grizz" Dwain Haler, who passed away on January 24th, 2020.

In accordance with Nancy's wishes, there will be no public services at this time. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City, Indiana at a later date, followed by a family gathering.

Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, has been entrusted with Nancy's cremation arrangements.
