Nancy Marie Hannan, born on September 11, 1931, in Bellaire, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, in Wheeling, West Virginia, at the age of 93.
Nancy dedicated over two decades of her life to serving her country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Army. Following her esteemed military career, she continued to contribute to her community through her work in school maintenance for the St. Clairsville School District.
A proud resident of Bellaire, Ohio, Nancy was an active member of the American Legion Post #52, where she cherished the camaraderie and shared experiences with fellow veterans. Her commitment to service and community was evident throughout her life.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Everett and Daisy Hannan; her brothers, James and Edmond Hannan; and her sister, Gloria Christakis. She is survived by her dear sister, Barbara Burback; her niece, Nancy Delman, and her husband David; and her great-nephew and great-niece, Chase and Justene Delman. She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will fondly remember her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services. The Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home in Bellaire is assisting the family during this time of loss. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Nancy, please visit our floral store.
