Nancy Castner Harper, 77, of Blue Bell, PA passed away on December 19, 2025 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Harper. She was born in Lebanon, PA on January 9, 1948 to the late James F. Castner, Sr. and Grace (Roller) Castner. Nancy was raised in Bordentown, NJ and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ class of 1965. She then attended St. Elizabeth College in Morrisville, NJ, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her Junior year she became a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society. After college she had a distinguished career of 21 years with J&J Consumer Products and Pharmaceutical organizations. She was an avid gardener, a contributing supporter of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, an enthusiastic traveler exploring destinations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, as well as having a passion for the ballet. Additionally, she enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, along with enjoying outdoor activities such as swimming, skiing and bicycling.
Nancy is survived by 2 brothers James F. Castner, Jr. (Anne) of Tyngsborough, MA, Peter M. Castner (Dianna) of Yardley, PA, several nieces and nephews, 3 stepsons James W. Harper, Jr., David G. Harper, and Mitchell P. Harper. She was predeceased by a brother Christopher Castner.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 10:00-10:30 a.m. followed by
a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory can be sent to Jefferson University School of Nursing, 901 Walnut Street, Health Professions Academic Building (HPAB), 8th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Nancy, along with her husband Jim Harper ´50, demonstrated a deep and enduring commitment to Wilmington Friends School. Through their support, they helped strengthen the School community and enrich the experience of generations of students.

We are grateful for Nancy´s life, her kindness, and the lasting legacy she and Jim leave at Wilmington Friends School. She will be remembered with appreciation and affection by all who knew her.
