Nancy left this world peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 87.

Nancy is survived by her brother Jim (Carol) Gross and their children, her daughters Cheryl Charles, Jeanne Hernandez, Amy Labinski, and Jennifer Hernandez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nathaniel Santiago, J.J. Santiago, Javier Ehlers, and Danielle Labinski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hernandez.

Many people met her through her work with Michael's Italian Restaurant. After her retirement, Nancy became even more involved in the community. Nancy enjoyed volunteering at elementary schools reading to children, participated in the Walk to Prevent Breast Cancer at the Fox River every year she was able, and made donations to causes she believed in that serve the community, such as The Women's Center, and the Waukesha Food Pantry. Nancy was a lover of the arts, and enjoyed jazz music, theater, traveling, and reading. She was a larger-than-life personality and will be missed.

Nancy did not want a funeral; however, her daughters will be organizing a Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy would have loved donations to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Women's Center, and anywhere that advances the arts.
