Nancy Anne (Laird) Hinkle, age 65 of Muir, MI passed away Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1958 in Carson City, MI, the daughter of Dr. John and Emily (Mackenroth) Laird. The family moved to Saranac in 1959 and lived in a great neighborhood full of kids. Nancy graduated from Saranac High School with the class of 1976. On September 14, 1979, she married Steven Hinkle, and they have lived in Ionia and Muir.
Nancy worked as office manager for her father's medical practice for many years, and later worked at Priority Health in Grand Rapids. She was a fine photographer with her own darkroom, and she professionally photographed weddings and family gatherings. She enjoyed crafting, painting, collecting and skiing, and she arranged many family trips to ski in Colorado while visiting her brother Fred and family.
Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Steve Hinkle of Muir; along with daughters Kaycie (Charles) Smith of Muir and Jessica (Keith) McClure of Ionia; granddaughters Charly Smith and Leyna Smith; step-mother Sybil Laird and her family of Ionia; siblings Margaret (Bruce) Chadwick of Saranac, and Fred (Susan) Laird of Estes Park, CO; brothers-in-law Jim (Judy) Hinkle of Mason, Keith Hinkle of Florida and David (Amy) Hinkle of Mason; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and classmates. She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, and her sister Amy Elizabeth Laird.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service at a later date. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home of Ionia. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
