Massena: With heavy hearts, the Houle family announces the untimely passing of Nancy A. Houle, age 60, on December 11, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident on July 28, 2023. "Nance" was surrounded by her immediate family and the loving energy from family and friends both near and far.
As per the family wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date, when the weather is warmer and sun shining, as it was Nance's favorite time of year.
Nancy was born to the late George and Laura (Robertson) Cross on March 18, 1965, in Massena, NY. She attended Massena Schools graduating from Massena Central in 1983. Nancy continued her education at Bryant & Stratton College in Syracuse, NY. Nancy and Alan (Al) Houle brought their first child, Stephanie to our world on January 31, 1986. She married Alan on October 7, 1989, at the Massena United Methodist Church. Following their marriage, they continued to grow their family, announcing their second child, Ryan Houle on August 18, 1991.
Nancy loved to spend time with her children, her dogs and grand dogs/cats, reading, exercising, taking care of others and working on her beautiful home, especially her plants and flowers. She enjoyed long walks with her husband Al and their black labs, as well traveling to tropical destinations with friends and family.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband Al of 36 years, her children Stephanie and companion Daniel Bovay of Massena, NY Ryan and companion Amanda Brown of Massena, NY along with her siblings: Grant "Chum" and wife JoAnne Martin of Chase Mills, Jim and Dorothy Martin of Madrid, NY, Randy "Puggs" Martin of Madrid, NY, Cassie and John Cecot of Massena, NY, Marty and Joan Cross of Batavia, NY along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her K9 companions, Mocha, Zepplin, and Marley.
