Jim Harbin & David Harbin, nephews
April 4, 2024
My brother Jim and I grew up with much admiration and respect for our Aunt Nancy Lee Harbin-Huffman.
Her courageous adventures, whether from her tenure as a photographer with the Columbus, Ind. news papers. (hope we're correct with this) She photographed many politicians and events. Her skydiving and other adventures she shared with all. Including her students at Fairview. Plus she would mail us photos and newspaper clippings. She shared quite a bit with us during our youth which was enlightening.
Our families catering, Condes' of Whiting catered her and Uncle Stu's wedding in Hammond. Our mother, Georgia D. Condes-Harbin and Nancy were very close. Our mom married our father, James Audley Harbin and brought we boys up within a secure loving family. Our memories growing up and spending quality time with aunt Nancy was a time we always looked forward to and treasured.
She never missed a birthday or holiday greeting card.
Mostly her genuine love for animals while adopting countless cats & dogs was admirable. Many strays would find their way to her home and heart. I, David, would refer to her home...was...aunt Nancy's Noah Ark cabin on the hill. We shared an incredible amount of support, news and stories of our fondness of animals. We all adopted shelter dogs & cats through the years.
We'd like very much to sincerely thank Ron Carter & family along with all her peers, close friends and church Pastor and acquaintances for their friendship, commarderier and care. We are grateful.
