Nancy (Cleva) Hug, 82, formerly of Holtsville NY passed away on November 23, 2025. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 19, 1943, the daughter of John and Marcella Cleva. She was raised on Long Island and attended Saint Agnes High School and graduated from Long Island College Hospital with a degree in Nursing. Nancy later applied her medical knowledge by working in Brookhaven hospital and then the private practice of Dr Jean, OB/GYN, for many years.

In 1961 she met her future husband, John Hug at a St John's University dance and was married for 45 years until his passing in 2009.

Nancy grew up in Freeport NY with her mom Marcella Cleva and dad John Cleva and her brothers and sisters Bobby, Janice, Mickey, Virginia, Howard and Brian and her cousin Diane. She was happy to enjoy all the fun times getting together on Holidays and other occasions over time watching the family grow over the years.

Nancy gave birth to three lovely children, her daughters Monica Hug (partner Danny), Kelly Hug Bracy (husband Jeff Bracy) and her son John Hug. Nancy is the proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Kevin, Ashley, Jessica and Jeff.

During the family's younger years, they closely bonded and enjoyed many vacations with the families of dear friends Paul and Laurelle Colletti and Bill and Joan Dirzulaitis. Countless trips to the Catskills with her mother, sisters, brothers and many nieces and nephews became tradition. Traveling in her future years with her sister-in-law Pat and her long-time friends and sisters provided many memorable moments during Nancy's senior years.

Nancy deeply cared for and loved every single person in her large family as well as her closest friends and their families. Her warmth precious and joyous spirit will be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

She is survived by her sisters Janice and Virginia, her brothers Mickey, Howard, Brian and their spouses and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her mom, dad, her brother Bobby and her husband Johnny.

Funeral services will be held at Moloney's Holbrook Funeral Home. 825 Main Street Holbrook NY 11741 on Saturday December 20, 2025, between 1;00 PM and 5:00 PM.
