Nancy Rose Hunter January 20, 1947 – October 13, 2025

Nancy Rose Hunter, 78, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 13,

2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Nancy was born on January 20, 1947, in Moultrie, Georgia, to Mertie Queen Powell

and Wesley Howell. One of six siblings, Nancy grew up in a close-knit family that

shaped her loving and strong-willed spirit.

On February 13, 1965, she married the love of her life, Jimmie Hunter, with whom she

shared many wonderful years until his passing. Together they built a beautiful life filled

with laughter, love, and family.

Nancy was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into caring for her loved

ones. She had a remarkable strength and generosity that touched everyone around

her. Known for her honesty, humor, and warmth, she could make anyone feel at

home.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed reading and watching her favorite soap operas. She

loved taking drives with no destination in mind and cherished simple joys like good

food, good company, and moments spent with family.

Nancy's legacy lives on through her four children - Dwight Hunter, Scott Hunter,

Beth Jackson, and Jason Hunter - as well as her many grandchildren and

great-grandchildren who adored her deeply. She was the proud grandmother of

Morgan Hunter, Brittany Hunter, Carli Hunter, Holli Hunter, Dakota Hunter, Brianna

Hunter, Marissa Hunter, Jessica Amore, Aaron Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Kayli

Jackson, Katrina Jackson, Jasmyn Hunter, Janson Hunter, Jaydon Hunter, and

Jashton Hunter. Her love continues through her great-grandchildren Kayden Hunter,

Jordan Harris, Jaslyn Harris, Bailey Harris, Kinzley Hyder, Landon Helm, Zoey Myers,

Nova Jackson, Carmelo Moore, and Cameron Moore.

Nancy is also survived by her siblings Steve Burgess, Sharon Harty, and Keith

Burgess, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish

her memory.

Nancy's life was a testament to strength, love, and faith. Her family finds comfort in

the words of 2 Corinthians 5:1, 6–8 (NLT):

"For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down-that is, when we

die and leave this earthly body-we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body

made for us by God Himself... We are fully confident, and we would rather be away

from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord."

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with

us, she is now home with the Lord - reunited with her loved ones and watching over

her family with the same warmth and love she gave every day of her life.
