Nancy R. Isabel (Flora), of Dedham, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. She was surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, who will forever remember her as a guiding light in their lives. Born in Boston, Nancy's was raised in the neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, where she cultivated a life of learning, love, and laughter.
Nancy's early years in Boston were filled with the joy of discovery and the forging of lifelong friendships. She was a proud graduate of Jamaica Plain High School, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and intelligent approach to every challenge. The bonds she formed and the values she developed during those formative years remained with her throughout her life.
Her entrepreneurial spirit and keen business acumen led Nancy to become the respected owner and operator of Suffolk Insurance Agency in W. Roxbury. There, she served her community with dedication, offering guidance and support to her clients. She was not only admired for her professional expertise but also for her ability to make every interaction personal and meaningful.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy's heart was truly at home. A beloved wife to Michael J. Isabel, she was the cornerstone of a loving family, a role she cherished above all else. As a mother to Laurie Simpkins and her husband Brian of Canton, she instilled values of kindness and perseverance. Her legacy continued to flourish through the joyous laughter of her granddaughters, Sophia and Sarah Simpkins of Canton, whose lives she touched with endless love and wisdom.
Nancy's love extended to her siblings, sharing precious moments with her sister Janice Locke of Westwood, her brother Frank Flora Jr. of Quincy, and cherishing the memory of her late sister Carole Spencer. Each family gathering was a testament to the strong bonds she nurtured and the sense of unity she fostered within her family.
A woman of many passions, Nancy found solace in the art of cooking, always eager to prepare a feast for her family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and storytelling, where recipes were shared and memories were made. Nancy's love for the daytime drama of "The Young and the Restless" was well-known, as she rarely missed an episode, delighting in the twists and turns of the beloved soap opera.
Nancy R. Isabel's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and intelligence. She approached each day with an open heart and a gentle smile, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has taken her leave from this world, the echoes of her laughter and the wisdom of her words will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. Nancy's spirit, a beacon of love and joy, will forever illuminate the paths of those she loved.
