Nancy Marie Jackson of Birmingham died peacefully on November 1, 2022, with her family by her side. She was 84 years old. Nancy, the 3rd of seven children, was born on September 13, 1938 in Algonac, Michigan to parents Marie (nee Ferguson) and Clarence Nugent.
Nancy was a deeply faithful woman and dedicated member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She was married to the late James Jackson, the love of her life, for 46 years. She had a lifelong love of learning and enjoyed reading, writing poems, spending time in the garden, and was a novice birdwatcher. Growing up on the St. Clair River, Nancy loved the water and boating was one of her favorite family activities. Above all, Nancy was never happier than when her family was together. She loved cheering on her grandkids in their numerous sports. She was the embodiment of the phrase "to know her is to love her" and will be greatly missed.
Nancy is survived by her beloved children; Jennifer (Chris) Paprocki, Dan (Tom Mueller) Jackson, and Matt (Chea) Jackson. Nancy is the cherished grandmother of James, Joseph, Lily, and John. Also surviving are Nancy's siblings Gail Shirey, David Nugent, and John Nugent, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Nugent and Dan Nugent, and her sister, Helen Thomas.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 4, from 4 - 8 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 1368 North Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 5, at 10 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon Street, Birmingham, Michigan 48009. Family and friends may begin visiting the church at 9:30 AM.
