Nancy Jean Keyton, 89, of Middletown, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community Oak Lea Rehabilitation Center and was a resident of Bellaire at Stone Port Assisted Living Facility in Harrisonburg, VA.

Nancy was born in 1936 in Winchester, the daughter of the late Lacy and Eleanor Coverstone. She graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1954 and retired in 2019 as an Accountant for The Optical Center in Winchester. Nancy was a member of Refuge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed duck pin bowling, cooking, and doing arts & crafts. Nancy loved taking care of others and was one of the founding members of hospice in the area. She also enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Nancy is survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, stepson, sister-n-law and close cousins.

She married William "Bill" Snyder Keyton, Sr. on October 20, 1985, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2018.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy is preceded in death by her brother, Robert A. Coverstone.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private at Reliance Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Laetitia Schoeman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Bellaire at Stone Port Assisted Living Facility in Harrisonburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made in memory of Nancy to Blue Ridge Care, 333 W. Cork St., Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601, or Refuge Church, 717 Refuge Church Rd., Stephens City, VA 22655.
