Nancy Duffy Kirkpatrick of Cromwell CT, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at home, in her sleep on Nov 12th at the grand old age of 103. Amazing.

Born in 1922, Nancy was the daughter of James King Duffy and Marie Duffy (Kieran).

A graduate of the College of New Rochelle, she was always an avid reader, sports lover and devoted fan of (early) Frank Sinatra. In her twenties, Nancy went to work in Macy's advertising department where another Frank took center stage in her life. Frank Kirkpatrick and Nancy Duffy married in 1947 and would be together for the next 63 years.

They settled in Scarsdale, NY, and raised 5 children.

In 1977, they picked up stakes and moved to Vermont and owned and operated the JJ Hapgood store in Peru, VT, for several decades. The store and the town were featured in the movie, Baby Boom, in which Nancy and Frank made cameo appearances.

They eventually sold the store and retired in 2000, enjoying another 12 years in a "little piece of Heaven" in neighboring Londonderry, VT.

After Frank's death, Nancy moved in with her daughter, Treacy, in Cromwell, CT, where she spent the remaining years of her life. She loved reading, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her 5 children, Treacy, Timothy, Gregory, Cary (Handler), and Amy (Dupuis); 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Nancy was predeceased by her brother Jay Duffy.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to her caregiver team, especially Jackie and Carmen. Your patience, kindness and love will not be forgotten.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Cromwell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
