Owen L. Kirkpatrick Sr.

Roddy - Owen L. Kirkpatrick, Sr., age 92, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, in Green Meadows in Cary. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends after the service Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Owen was born and had lived most of his life in Roddy. He was the son of the late George Henry and Edna Mixon Kirkpatrick and was preceded in death by his grandson, Shawn Manning, his sisters, Clyde K. Graham, Thelma K. Walker and Bertha K. Register, his brothers, Lewis Kirkpatrick, B.J. Kirkpatrick, Horace Kirkpatrick and Frank Kirkpatrick. He was retired from the Army National Guard and a retired school bus driver from Dodge County Board of Education. Mr. Owen was owner and operator of Owen's Drive-In in Chester and Roddy "Mall" Store in Roddy and the oldest member of Cochran Masonic Lodge #217 F&AM, having received his 50-year pin. He was a member of Roddy Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Merle F. Kirkpatrick of Cochran; his children, Carol (Stephen) Manning of Cochran, Sheryl Sawyer of East Ridge, TN; Owen L. (Clare) Kirkpatrick, Jr. of Newnan, Kevin Kirkpatrick of Cochran and Tina (David) Yawn of Eastman; his grandchildren; Chris Phillips, Stacy Manning, Jason (Candice) Thomas, Carla (Chris) Pate, Timothy Sawyer, Whitney (Anthony) Rutkowski, Bryce (Meredith) Kirkpatrick, Kace (Melissa) Kirkpatrick, Dillon (Caitlyn) Floyd and Dalton (Allyson) Floyd; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
