Nancy Koehler Obituary

Nancy L. Koehler, 76, Edgar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield with her family by her side.

She was born December 3, 1949 in Wausau to Victor and Dolores (Ritger) Schueller. On February 11, 1972, she was united in marriage to Randal W. Koehler. He survives.

Nancy was a woman of deep faith and prayed the rosary daily. Among some of her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed baking, especially sweet treats, traveling with her family-her favorites were trips to the East coast, many camping trips and playing games such as dominoes and sheepshead. She liked to sew, and in her younger years, made many clothing items for her children. She enjoyed shopping, especially with the girls, always looking for a bargain. Nancy was an avid reader and in her retirement years, she frequented the local library. Most of all, she loved her family. She would do anything for her grandchildren. Spending time together during holidays, birthdays celebrations, grandchildren’s events and being together no matter what the occasion was the highlight of her life.

Working for the post office in multiple locations for 24 years, Nancy knew the importance of a handwritten note. She had a way of touching so many relatives and friends with a “card in the mail” for a special occasion, just to say she was thinking of them, and always to send thanks for any kindness shown to her. She was very generous and always thought about others before herself.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include, her loving husband, Randal; three children, Luke (Jamie) Koehler, Edgar, Lindsey (Scott) Kroening, Marathon and Bridget (Brandon) Kaiser, Edgar; eight grandchildren, Malana, Brooks and Taya Koehler, Caleb and Jemma Kroening, Isabella, Amelia and Maxwell Kaiser; six siblings, Patty Steffeck, Stevens Point, Michael (Marie) Schueller, Edgar, Ron (Barb) Schueller, Kent, WA, Jan (Jerry) Jacobs, Wisconsin Rapids, Gary (Cathy) Schueller, Edgar and Kathy (Troy) Bargender, Stratford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Michael Steffeck.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Allen Wierzba will preside. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass all at the church. There will be a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening following visitation.
