Nancy L. (Thoma) Koprowski, 77, of Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Embassy of East Mountain, Plains Township, after a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 13, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Sarah "Sally" (Kelly) Thoma.
Nancy graduated from E.L. Meyers High School in 1966. Before retiring, she worked as a Medical Receptionist for Geisinger. Nancy was a devoted member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysisus Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Gran." She would spend her Saturdays taking them to the library, movies, or out to lunch. Nancy loved the beach, game shows, shopping, going for ice cream, and tending to her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard W. Koprowski; brothers, Kenneth Thoma, and infant, Joseph Thoma.
Nancy is survived by her loving daughters, Karen M. Thompson and husband, David, Hanover Township, and Kelly A. Koprowski-Mislivets and fiancée, Michael Richards, Warrior Run; grandchildren, Darrek, Miranda, and Dylan Mislivets and Keira Thompson; bonus grandchildren, Justin and Ava Richards; brother, Charles Thoma and wife, Cindy, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Jayne Evans, Shavertown; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, 143 W. Division St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend Richard Cirba officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home or go directly to the church.
