Nancy Ledbetter, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully July 7 at age 73 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Marge Cook and Leonard Combs in West Virginia and grew up in Chicago. Nancy has resided in the greater Ormond Beach area for over 50 years. She put her professional singing career on hold at age 19 when she met and later married Dr. Marvin Ledbetter, with whom she had two children. Dr. Ledbetter died in 1987, but a strong and determined Nancy persevered and dedicated her life to her children and family. Over the years, she continued to sing professionally and socially around town until giving what none of us knew would be her final performance just three months ago. Nancy is survived by her children Bobby and John, her son-in-law Dylan, and her siblings Vicky, Dave, and Donnie. She was charismatic and funny, and enjoyed reading, music and discussing world affairs. Nancy had so many amazing friends and touched so many lives and will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens Nov 2 at 11 a.m. Nancy adored flowers and would wish for you to share some with your nearest and dearest in memory of her generous and loving spirit.
