Laura Dawn Ledbetter made her grand entrance into this world on October 29, 1961, in
Ardmore, Oklahoma, born to Guy T. and Midge Ledbetter. On February 8, 2026, she made her triumphant arrival into Heaven, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Laura graduated from Dickson High School in 1979, where she formed lifelong friendships that she cherished deeply. With a deep appreciation for her heritage and the legacy of her ancestors, she pursued a career in the oil and gas industry-a path that ultimately led her to Fort Worth, Texas.
She had a true love for sunshine and spent countless happy hours by her pool, just steps from her front door. Proudly known as the "Pool Police," she kept a watchful eye over her favorite gathering place.
Laura Dawn's creativity knew no bounds. She loved sewing, crafting, and writing beautiful poetry that reflected her passionate spirit. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Queenie," and she cherished every moment with her special guy.
Music filled her home and her heart. With an incredible collection spanning every genre, Man, could she dance! Whether it was ballroom, swing, or anything in between. She truly could do it all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Fred Allen; and her best friend, Paula Heartsill.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter, Mary Montana "Tanna" Allen Ducharme and husband William; her beloved grandchildren, Halie, Merlin, and Josie Ducharme of
Ardmore, Oklahoma; her sisters, Rachelle Graham and husband James of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robin Sowders and husband Donnie of Dickson, Oklahoma, whom she lovingly considered the brother she never had; many adored nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her longtime boyfriend, Randy Gover of Mineral Wells, Texas.
Laura was deeply loved, and it is so hard to say goodbye to someone who gave us so much to remember. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Her light, her laughter, and her love will live on in all who knew her.
