Kathy Lee, age 72 of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Maypearl Cemetery, located at 12690 FM 157, Maypearl, Texas. The family will welcome visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.
Nancy Katherine Lee was born on August 7, 1952 to the late Joel Tibbs and Mary Francis Harmening Claunch in Waxahachie, Texas. She attended school in both Maypearl and Ballinger, graduating from Ballinger High School in 1970. After graduation, she continued her education at Angelo State University and Texas Tech University before transferring to Baylor University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in education in May 1975. She met the love of her life, Jerry Lee and the two were united in marriage on April 15, 1977. Kathy’s love for education inspired her to become a teacher. She began her career in 1988 as a teacher for the Oglesby Independent School District, later transferring to Maypearl, Waxahachie, and Ferris, Texas, before retiring in 2006. Throughout her life, Kathy enjoyed reading, being around her animals, and spending time with her two granddaughters.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Rolan and Betty Lee. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry Lee; son, Jerry Lee Jr., and granddaughters, Sienna and Scarlett.
