Nancy was born on February 25, 1950, in Lipan to Ralph and Irene Peters. She was a proud graduate of Lipan High School and carried the values of faith, kindness, and devotion with her throughout her life. On March 11, 1972, she married the love of her life, Danny Long. Together, they built a beautiful life and lovingly raised their two sons, Jimmy and Doug.
A faithful member of Lipan Church of Christ, Nancy’s faith was the foundation of her life. Few things delighted her more than children, and she truly found her calling in caring for them. For many years, she lovingly kept children in her home, nurturing and loving them as if they were her own. The countless lives she touched stand as a lasting testament to her servant’s heart.
Nancy made friends everywhere she went. She had a rare kindness about her, a tender heart, and a beautiful, loving smile. Her warmth and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Irene Peters; loving son, Doug Long; mother-in-law, Eula Jo Pankey; nieces, Brandie Childers and Meghan Wages; and brother, Warner Peters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Danny Long; son, Jimmy Long and wife, Melody; grandchildren, Kelsie Parker, Kylie Short and husband, Jon, David Ross, and Addison Ross; one great-grandson, Kohan Nix; father-in-law, James Pankey; sisters, Rhonda Deavers and husband, Hoyt, and Kathy Wages; sister-in-law Donna Garvin and husband, Billy; along with her beloved nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
Nancy’s legacy of faith, devotion, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
