DELMAR –
Our beloved Mother passed away peacefully with family at her side. She just celebrated her 95th Birthday.
She was raised in Buffalo and married her high school sweetheart and husband for over sixty years. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander MacDonald and two brothers Richard and Bruce. They were blessed with six healthy children, Sue (Richy), Tom (Lynn), Ken (Candy), Meg (Brian), Alex (Susan) and Andy (Mary); ten grandchildren, Sean (Kim), Ian (Leah), Jesse (Carolyn), Nathan (Zuleikha) Sam (Monica) Grant (Giana),Ian (Hunter) Alexander (Cici) Bryn (Dan), Cameron and Seven great grandchildren. She loved them dearly.
Nancy graduated from Lafayette High School in 1948 and Sisters of Charity Nursing Hospital in 1951. Nancy dedicated her life to caregiving. In her many roles her greatest joy was as an Obstetrics Nurse at a private practice. Our Mom was a gem. She made everyday moments extraordinary. She touched so many lives. Once you were Nancy's friend, you were her friend for life. Her favorite place to vacation was on Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada with family from Canada and Buffalo. She will be greatly missed. Everyone loved our Mom including the staff at Daughters of Sarah. We are so grateful to the compassion they provided our Mother in her time of need.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at 10 o’clock, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Community 180 Washington Ave. Ext. Albany, NY, 12203.
