CAIRO –
Roger Ward Pitt, 69, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away in October 2025. Born on April 17, 1956, in Oneonta NY, Roger spent the majority of his life in Livingston NY where he and his wife raised their four children. His life was rooted in family, hard work, and the deep connections he formed with the communities he proudly called home.
Roger was a caregiver at heart, a role he fulfilled throughout much of his life. He devoted many years to his work at the ADM Milling Company, helped tend a local farm, and consistently looked after those around him with quiet dedication. He took great pride in hard work and service and was always willing to step in and help whenever he was needed.
Outside of his responsibilities, Roger found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He especially cherished hunting in the woods, fishing with his grandson Brian and his son, RJ, working on projects around his property, and unwinding while watching his favorite old western television shows. His days were shaped by purpose, generosity, and the comfort of familiar pastimes.
Roger is survived by this children, Hope Abreu, Cora Pitt, and Roger Pitt Jr. He is also survived by his sisters, Arlene Pitt Buckton, Audrey Pitt (Garee) Coon, and Rosalee Trip; his brothers, Clarence (Barbara) Terrell and Barry Jeschke; his fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roger will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by the father, Warden R. Pitt; his mother, Viola J. Pitt; his beloved wife Sara A. Pitt; his daughter, Lois A. Camacho; and his granddaughter, Veronica Pitt.
