She was born Jan. 24, 1954, in Detroit, to Jesse and Shirley Madison.
A graduate of North Farmington High School, Nancy earned a degree in languages with Honors from Michigan State University.
After a brief career as a staffer at the U.S. Capitol, she moved to San Diego, where she was a longtime resident of Pacific Beach. She continued her study of Chinese and taught French privately for more than 20 years.
On Oct. 12, 2005, in San Diego, she wed her longtime companion, Howard Kuzminski, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, of Green Valley, Ariz.; and her sister, Janet M. (John) Tune of Traverse City.
Preceding her in death were her brother, Glen, and her father.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life was held in San Diego on what would have been Nancy's 55th birthday. A private family remembrance will be held in Michigan in the spring.

I am very sorry to learn of the passing of Nancy Madison. As one who has recently experienced a family death at an early age, I know the extra sadness that you must be feeling. I have fond recollections of the Madison family visiting our house in the Detroit area when our fathers were best friends. I wish the Madison family the best in dealing with their loss.
