Nancy Ann Martin, 83, of New Bedford died Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Hathaway Manor after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Gilbert Martin and Hilda (Duarte) Gomes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Nancy was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for over thirty years until her retirement.
Nancy enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, crocheting, time spent with family and friends, wearing animal print, and going out to eat, especially to her favorite Chinese Restaurants.
She is survived by four children, Melissa Colbert and her husband James, Desiree Martin, Carlos A. Martin and his wife Elizabeth, and Nicole Martin; her sister, Rosemarie Wills and her husband Raymond; five grandchildren, Jayhna Colbert, Jehrin Colbert, Nancy A. Martin, Hope J. Martin, and Cellen A. Martin; four great-grandchildren, Loukas Morales, Jazlin Martin, Landon Santillan, and Kayson Cerda; her aunt, Nathalie Rose; two nieces, Sonya and Kelsie Wills; and her nephew, Jerome Wills.
She was predeceased by her brother, Dana Gomes.
Her visiting hours will be Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her Funeral Mass will be Saturday, February 14th at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 47 S. 6th St., New Bedford, with everyone invited to meet directly at Church.
