Nancy C. Mason

Nancy C. Mason age 85 of Ferrum peacefully entered into the gates of Heaven to join her beloved husband on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Nancy retired from Ronile and was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church where you would usually find her in the kitchen or the church nursey. She also enjoyed cleaning the church as she did this for many years.
She was born on January 30, 1937 a daughter of the late Oscar Chitwood and Ora Hickman Chitwood LaPrade. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Mason; a son, Kenny Cook; brothers, Forrest Chitwood and Marshall Chitwood; and a sister, Betty Nester.
She is survived by her children, Jay Mason (Tina), Bill Cook (Tammy), Price Cook, Jo Ann Sawyer (Kenny) and Sue Jones (Mark); grandchildren, Logan Mason, Hannah Mason, Tab Eitner, Brad Cook, Erica Elkins, Heather Powell and Kris Black; eight great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Brenda Meeks. Nancy is also survived by other family members, numerous friends including her church family. She will be missed and always loved by all.
The Mason family would like to say a special thanks to Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center Staff and to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their loving care and support during her illness.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor's Eugene Chitwood and Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Nancy's family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
