It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Destiny Mason, age 23, on February 12, 2026.
Born on August 21, 2002, Destiny was a lifelong resident of Rutland, Vermont, where she lived surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Destiny graduated from Rutland high school on June 18th 2021 and went on to work at Stewart’s Shops, where her bright smile and kind heart touched the lives of coworkers and customers alike.
Destiny truly loved music. It was part of who she was. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, filling rooms with warmth and joy. She especially enjoyed ’80s rock, particularly Metallica, and also loved listening to Warren Zeiders and Michael Jackson. Whether she was singing along to her favorite songs or simply sharing them with others, music brought her happiness and helped her connect with everyone around her.
She was the most pure and loving soul — truly one of the best people anyone could have the blessing to know. Destiny had a gift for making people laugh. She was funny, genuine, deeply caring, and carried a light that made everyone feel welcome. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Destiny is survived by her loving mother, Tracey Mason; her father, Nick Mason; her sibling, Christopher Mason; her beloved grandmother, Laura Vradenburg; her devoted fiancé, Travis Foster; and her very good friend, Kelly Holden and Emily Knox. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in our faith, trusting that Destiny is now at peace in the arms of the Lord. The Bible reminds us that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” While her time here was far too short, the love she gave and the joy she shared will echo in our hearts forever. We hold onto the promise that this is not goodbye, but “see you again,” in God’s eternal kingdom.
Destiny’s light will never fade. Her laughter, her voice, and her beautiful spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
