Nancy C. Mathis

Mathis, Nancy C. of Flushing, age 87, died Friday, May 10, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. No services will be held. A private interment of cremated remains will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 6380 Beecher Road, Flint, Michigan.
Nancy was born on August 8, 1936, the daughter of Herbert and Viola (Galow) Evert. She married Lawrence Mathis on September 10, 1955, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dearborn, Michigan. Nancy was a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed being a "softball wife", following her husband's softball teams all over the country. Nancy was also a member of the American Legion, the Flushing V.F.W. and the Flushing Senior Center. She enjoyed spending her time sewing and quilting. Nancy's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence; daughters, Kim and husband Bruce Klipa, Karen and husband Mike Bradley; grandchildren, Kristen Klipa, Staci and husband Matt Wothke, Jessica and husband Matt Harrison, Amy and husband Blaine Brisson; great-grandchildren, Meghan Nickerson, Hayli Wothke, Maci Wothke, Brooklyn Harrison, Avery Harrison, Blaine Brisson, Walker Brisson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Fischer.
