Nancy Evelyn (Jensen) Maxwell passed away peacefully in her home on the evening of October 13, 2025, in Cedar City, Utah. She was born on October 25, 1958, to Avril Jensen and Iona (Davidson) Jensen in Murray, Utah.
Nancy was raised in Sugar House. She spent much of her time playing on the swings and helping her mother quilt-a skill she would go on to share with others through teaching and gifting her creations. After graduating from Highland High School, she met the love of her life and eternal companion, David Maxwell. Together, they had five children and settled in West Valley City, where she lived for 33 years before spending her final years in Cedar City.
Nancy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep love for her Savior. She lived her life dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She never considered anyone a stranger and strove to show compassion and love to everyone she met. She loved to sew, she loved to sing, and she loved to tell stories.
Nancy was preceded in death by her children, Sheryl Oldfield and John Maxwell; her sister, Sandra Larson; and her parents, Avril and Iona Jensen. She is survived by her husband, David Maxwell; her daughters, Carina Lafontaine, Linda Walker (L. Wade), and Rochelle Jones (R. Levie); as well as her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4845 S. Wood Haven Dr., Taylorsville, on Tuesday, October 21. The viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Valley View Memorial Park following the service. An open house will be held on Saturday, October 18, for Cedar City friends to pay their respects to the family at 95 N 2125 W Cedar City from 4:00-5:30
The family would like to thank Nancy's doctors and medical assistants who helped her manage Parkinson's Disease over the years, as well as Intermountain Hospice for caring for her and making her passing comfortable. They also wish to express deep gratitude and appreciation to the members of the Cedar Valley Ward, who provided help and support to Nancy and David during her declining health.
Arrangements have been entrusted to HeartLight Funeral Services of Cedar City, 2002 N Main St Suite 7 Cedar, UT 84721, (435) 586-3456.
