Nancy Kathryn McBride, 84, of Ladson, South Carolina, wife of Richard Burton McBride entered into eternal rest Friday, February 20, 2026. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.
Nancy was born June 1, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Adrian Edwards Peters and the late Kathryn Greathouse Peters. Throughout her life, Nancy called many places home, having lived in several states including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and even spent time in Scotland. Each location contributed to her rich tapestry of experiences and relationships, and she embraced every community with warmth and open arms. An avid reader, Nancy found joy in the written word and cherished the power of stories. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity; she deeply loved her church and actively volunteered in various areas, embodying her dedication to service. She was passionate about pro-life causes, advocating for those in need and providing support wherever she could. In addition to her service, Nancy had a penchant for volunteering at nursing homes, bringing joy and companionship to those she visited. She extended her compassion and kindness to others, often lending a helping hand to those facing difficult times. Nancy's zest for life was further reflected in her hobbies. She enjoyed playing tennis and roller skating, Vollyball, pursuits that kept her active and engaged. She also cherished her travels, reveling in experiences at Siesta Key, FL, Europe, and along the scenic shores of Ocean City, New Jersey. Music held a special place in her heart, particularly worship music, which filled her spirit with joy and peace.
Nancy McBride will be remembered as a beacon of light, whose life was a testament to love, friendship, and unwavering faith. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed dearly.
