Nancy L. McDowell, age 74 of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 21, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Dodgeville on March 28, 1950, to DuWayne and Jerry Anderson. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1969.
Nancy worked for Rural Insurance in Madison for over 35 years. She also worked with Interim Nursing Home Care as a CNA in Madison.
Nancy married Gary McDowell in 1976 and they had two children: Aaron and Meghan. After Gary's death in 2005, Nancy moved back home with her mom.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her nephew Ron Vineberg.
She is survived by her two children: Aaron McDowell and Meghan McDowell; two sisters: Margaret (Mike) Stone and Christine (Brad) Broaden; nieces: Jennifer (Garrett) Marr, Victoria (Steve) Mitchell, Tara (Matt) Olson, Mary Holmes; nephew, Robert Holmes; and many great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon. Nancy will be inurned privately at East Side Cemetery at a later date. The Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com
