Nancy L Miller (Michael), 94, died on Sunday September 21, 2025 after a brief illness secondary to her dementia. She was the wife of Edwin H Miller. Edwin passed away in 2003. Nancy and Edwin were married for 59 years.
Born in Reading, PA and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edithe (Greth) Michael.
Nancy graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia in 1949 and from Chestnut Hill Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 In 2002 Nancy completed a course of study at University of the South, School of Theology with a certification in Theological Education.
Nancy and her family lived in Acton, MA from 1961 until 1999, when she and her husband moved to Dartmouth, MA. In 2005 Nancy moved to Lancaster, MA
Among many interests, Nancy was involved with the Candy Striper Volunteer Program at Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA before starting her 20 year career as the school nurse at Acton Boxborough Regional Junior High School in Acton. She worked an additional 4 years as a school nurse at Wellesley Public Schools, retiring in 1998
Nancy was an avid gardener and member of the Garden Clubs in Acton, Little Compton Gardeners in Little Compton, RI and Harvard Garden Club, Harvard, MA. She was an accomplished keyboard musician serving as a substitute organist for the Church of the Good Shepherd, Acton. Her interest in her family's Welsh heritage saw her learn to speak the Welsh language and for many years she would travel over the Labor Day holiday weekend to the North American Welsh Festival of Music (Cymanfu Ganu) for 4 days of celebration of Welsh music, singing church hymns in Welsh.
Survivors include her son Douglas H Miller and his wife Dale (Sasser) of Westminster; Her daughter Joy L DiMaggio (Miller) and her husband Kenneth of Sudbury; Her grandchildren Andrea D Irving (DiMaggio) and her husband Robert John and their two children Haley and Luke of Sudbury; and Michael J DiMaggio and his wife Jenna (Astarita) and their two children Nicholas and Peter of Wellesley.
Nancy's Memorial Service will be held on Thursday October 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Church, 209 Union Street Clinton, MA
