Nancy Joan (nee Usher) Morrison, 91, of Nixa, Missouri, went home to her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1934, in Jet, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children, to Elmer and Bessie (nee Martin) Usher.

Nancy was a strong woman of faith who devoted much of her adult life to serving in the church, where she was often known to out-sing the Sunday morning congregation. She carried many cherished titles—wife, mom, and grandma—but her favorite by far was “Granny” to her 19 great-grandchildren.

She loved her family unconditionally and found joy in the simple pleasures of life: playing Bingo, trying her luck at the penny slots, crafting, and spending time outdoors. Nancy wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty—whether baiting a worm or casting a line while fishing alongside her beloved husband.

On May 15, 1953, she married the love of her life, Dwight “D.B.”, and together they raised two children. Their family made their home in Enid, Oklahoma, before later retiring to the Rockaway Beach, Missouri area.

Those who knew Nancy knew the deep love she had for others and the pride she took in serving every person she encountered. She retired after a career as a medical receptionist, yet her servant’s heart never slowed. In retirement, she continued to care for others while working with various showmen in the Branson theaters and became well known around the Bingo Hall, where her warm presence was always felt.

Nancy is survived by her son, Chris (Charlotte) Morrison; grandchildren Amy (Russ) Allen, Christin (Colby) Vallejo, Michael (Angel) Smith, Caitlyn (Noel) Mercado, and Bessie Smith; 18 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Cole; her great-grandson, Cane Vallejo; her sister, Leota Chambers; and her brother, Marvin “Bud” Usher.

Though she will be greatly missed here on Earth, we rejoice in the promise that she has been made new and is now walking the streets of Heaven.

An intimate celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
