Nancy Marie Murray
July 18, 1941 - December 27, 2025

Nancy Marie Murray, born July 18, 1941, in Yoakum, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Edward Clyde Murray, whom she met in middle school and cherished throughout their life together. They lived in several cities as a young couple and settled and raised their family in Portland, Texas.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Susan LaNette Galloway (Craig), Terri Lynn Murray, and Randall Joe Murray (Wendy); her sister JoNette Danell; her sister-in-law Elaine Baskin (Lee); and her niece Lorraine Cheryl Bonsall (Will). She was blessed with grandchildren James Edward Trangmar, John Allen Trangmar (Clarissa), Christopher Blake Murray, Logan Joe Murray, and Carrie Dianne Murray, and great-grandchildren Jolene Nicole Trangmar, Juliette Marie Trangmar, and Charleigh Rose Trangmar. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Tommie Tribble and her niece Paulette Danell.

Nancy had a creative spirit and was an artist, gardener, and homemaker. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing, and exploring other artistic avenues. She had a green thumb and loved showing off her latest plants. She was deeply involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities - a typical G-P mom. She was a Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and Aggie fan, often spending time watching games and discussing them with family. Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor, a generous heart, and a love for simple joys like scenic car rides by the water.

Nancy lived a life of faith and service. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and then First Baptist Church - Portland, where she attended and served faithfully. She taught Sunday school, participated in women's Sunday School classes, and was known as a prayer warrior. She loved her church family and delighted in the ladies Paper Doll birthday parties. Her favorite verse was John 3:16, and her greatest wish was for everyone to know and love Jesus.

Her legacy is one of faith, family, and kindness. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in the presence of her Lord.

Service Details: Services will be held at First Baptist Church - Portland, TX on December 30th at 12pm. There will be viewing for friends before the service beginning at 11am. The internment will be held immediately after the service at Palms Memorial Garden (4335 County Road 3567, Taft TX 78390)

Flowers and plants are accepted. Memorial contributions may also be made in Nancy's honor to the Church Camp Scholarship Fund.
