Nancy Grace Nicely

Nancy Grace [Ellenberger] Nicely completed her journey here on earth on February 7, 2026, and passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Nancy was born to Edward and Geraldine in Johnstown, PA on August 23, 1938. She was preceded in death by her brother Jim, 3 sisters Mary Jane, Dorothy, Jeanne, and daughter Dianne. She is survived by her loving husband John (also known by many as Jack), with whom she shared 65 years of a wonderful marriage. She is also survived by her son John (Judy), daughter Denise Nichols (Andy), seven grandchildren- Daniel (Caitlin), David, Michael, Tim, Rebecca (Will), Stephen, and Alyssa, four great-grandchildren- Bennett, Everett, Addison, and Jonathan, plus nieces and nephews.

Nancy grew up in South Fork, Pennsylvania and graduated from South Fork High School in 1956 and then Conemaugh Valley School of Nursing as an RN in1960. Her loving care and compassion was a blessing to all. After marrying John in 1960, they eventually settled in Kennett Township, Pennsylvania, and lived there for almost 50 years. They then spent the last couple of years in Warminster, Pennsylvania.

Nancy loved God first and foremost, and then her family and others, but she also loved God's creation. She enjoyed flower gardening, birds, and nature in general. She also liked travelling, which enabled her to experience the great variety that God created in this world. Nancy also loved music and was a dedicated church organist and pianist for many years.

While Nancy was a great nurse, she was an even greater wife, mom, grandma, and friend. As a deeply committed Christian, Nancy strove to let the love of Christ flow through her. Everyone who knew her would attest to her success in that endeavor. Her sweetness drew many to her, and all who met her became a friend. It has been observed that few people live up to their names as much as Nancy lived up to Grace and Nicely. She truly was the epitome of love, grace, kindness, and selflessness.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Point Church, 592 Washington Crossing Rd, Newtown, PA on February 28 at 1:00 in the afternoon, with a reception to follow. Visitation will start at 12:00pm.
