Nancy Ann Norris Miller, 88, died peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband of 60 years, B. Read Miller. Born in Louisville, KY, she was the only child of Charles and Ann McCabe Norris. She attended the University of Louisville and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Nancy joined her husband Read as an entrepreneur and together they owned and operated various KFC franchises in Kentucky and the US Virgin Islands as well as commercial real estate.
Both Nancy and Read were blessed with many dear friends and family throughout their life together and they were clearly devoted to each other. Nancy embraced life with a sense of humor and without question was an incredibly kind and compassionate mother and friend. She was reserved yet humble and always put others first. She supported those in need in her own quiet fashion throughout her life. She believed that when facing a difficult situation, one should always remember to ask "have I walked that path" before making a choice or decision. "We are celebrating a matriarch, a generational pillar of strength and a woman of excellence and grace" says her granddaughter, Leigh.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered, treasured and missed by her family. Children: Ann Miller, Versailles, Bo (Teresa) Miller, Jackson, WY, John (Robin) Miller, Versailles, Mary Ann (Tom) White, Cincinnati, OH. Grandchildren: Leigh (Nathan Spaw) Middleton, Laura (Dylan) Wilson, Benjamin (Meghan) Wehrle, Sam Miller, Griffin Miller, Kate Omsin (Wyatt) Miller, Emma Kate Miller, Read Parker Miller, Allen White, Maks (Natalia) Truszcynski, Sarah White. Six great-grandchildren: Greyson, Olivia, Oskar, Colt, Reiny and Riley. She was also preceded in death by another daughter, Martha Adair Miller Sayer and her husband Craig.
Nancy's family will forever be grateful for the care and friendship of many during this last chapter of her life. Effie Roberts made life fun even when it was not. The late, Mrs. Sallie Mae Bottoms who is still loved today and lessons she taught are still followed. Kay (Ron) Mobley was dedicated to this family and was the glue, friendship and love that connected the worlds of work and family for the Millers. A friendship that still endures 40 plus years later.
