Nancy Irene (Macak) Orasco, 83 passed peacefully Friday, January 9th in Plainfield Illinois. Nancy was born August 1st, 1942 to Paul and Irene (Kuchar) Macak. She was vibrant and friendly. She shared her childhood with 3 sisters and a brother. She always had a great smile, laugh and loved to talk! She grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central, where she had many friends and earned a letter playing basketball. Basketball was one of the many things that she excelled in. She made beautiful cakes, with many seeking her talents for special occasions. She loved to crochet, sew, garden, bowl, loved to line dance, take walks, fish, bike ride and spend time with her family. She worked at Lorraine's in Joliet for many years and finished her career at Osco Drug in the photo department. She married Raymond Carlos "Chuck" Orasco in 1960, they were married for 44 years and had 3 wonderful children together. Nancy was a great mom who spent time with her children cooking, baking, gardening, even teaching them to play sports. She was a friend to everyone and was always very supportive of others. She loved to have a good time and she opened her house to many gatherings for friends and family alike. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember special times decorating cookies, baking and helping to decorate her house. She loved nature walks, feeding the birds and spending time outside. Nancy is survived by her 3 children, Gina (Rob) Rothlisberger of Shorewood IL, Greg (Regina) Orasco of Shorewood IL,, and Ronda Orasco of Joliet IL, six grandchildren, Jay Rodriguez, Cassie (Jose) Razo, Andrew Orasco, Brendon Rothlisberger, Morgan Orasco, and Michael Knapik and 8 great grandchildren. Gina,
I´m so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I have fond memories of the three of us walking in the forest preserves together. Our conversations were always a highlight. I was always amazed by the energy your mom displayed. I will also remember her sweet smile from the many years I had the pleasure to know her. I will always remember the kindness your mom displayed by inviting me to make Christmas cookies. It meant so much to me because I had just lost my own mother. May God watch over your mom, and comfort you in this very difficult time.

I worked with Nancy a long time ago now lol at osco drug in New Lenox,IL back in 2003-2006 I believe! she was always smiling and a very hard worker! I remember her going on bike rides with several of the other employees and they had to keep up with her! Her cooking was always talked about and enjoyed by us when we had special occasions at the store So very sorry for your loss Nancy was a very nice lady !

I spent many years of my childhood at the Orasco´s. I can only picture Nancy with a smile on her face when I think of her. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Her enchiladas were amazing! There were always homemade cookies too. My mom didn´t bake so I don´t know that I would have known homemade chocolate chip cookies existed. My birthday cakes from her are another thing I´ve never forgotten. It was nice to see her at Inwood many years back. I enjoyed walking the track with her and catching up on life.
I´m grateful to have had her in my life and I´m sorry for who you´ve lost.
Blessings, Amie
