Nancy Rose (Moushegian) Paskiewicz
4-1-1942 - 7-12-2025
April 1, 1942 is a significant day as it is April Fools Day. But more significant is the day Nancy Rose Moushegian was born to Helen and Vartan Moushegian. A Polish mother (Biedrowska) and an Armenian father to navigate a thing called life. She was the fourth child born. Her grandfather Nazar Moushegian was one of the five founding members of St. Vartanantz Armenian Church on Lawrence Street in Lowell, which is now located on Westford Road in Chelmsford. The Lowell Moushegians consisted of many, that no longer exist because of attrition, that included builders, jewelers, lawyers, dentists, career army officers, etc.
Tommy Paskiewicz met Nancy many years ago when they were 18-19 years old, dated for many years, and were married August 6, 1971 by Fr. Manning at St. Margaret's Church Lowell. They had two children, John Michael born 1972 and Tara Ann born 1976, and in turn had two grandchildren, Jessie Marie born 1993 and Seth Aaron born 2004. John is married to Maria and Tara is married to Edmund Norton. Nancy was a great wife and mother. She never worked, her full time job was wife and mother. In her younger days when the children were young, they spent the summers at Humarock Beach near her sister Pat and her children. As we get older things change and in 2004 our brother-in-law Tom Renk passed away, who was married to Nancy's sister Marion. Tom and Marion Renk used to go to Naples, FL for the winters, so next year Marion asked Nancy if she would like to go to Florida with her. Nancy said she would go for a couple of weeks. I got a call from Nancy and she said she was spending the rest of the winter in Naples with Marion. Again, things change, and after many winters in Florida they did not go back. For what reason who knows. Marion was ten years older than Nancy.
Nancy we had almost 54 years of being married to each other and you are just as beautiful now as you were 65 years ago, and I will always love you. Nancy, over the years I messed up a few times in our marriage and I apologize with all my heart. Please forgive me. You always kept our marriage together.
A few years ago when you came down with this terrible dementia problem, I said I was going to be your care giver (with the help of others), and it worked and I'm proud of how we took care of you. Some times it was the blind leading the blind, but it worked. I want to now thank everyone for helping over the years, my son John and his wife Maria, my daughter Tara and her husband Ed, my granddaughter Jessie and her husband Justin, my grandson Seth, by brother Bill and his wife Norma who asked almost every day if they could do anything for Nancy and me, my next door neighbor nephew Mike who always asked if he could help, my neighbor Mike Conway who always gave me moral support.
Every Friday, I called two of my friends, Leo and Rita Cormier from Hollis, NH and Charlie and Jane Martin, Jr. from Yarmouth Port, MA to give me a break and just talk. My lifelong friend PJ Hayes who brought us Holy Communion, Deacon Steve Papik from the Holy Trinity Church who brought us communion, my lifelong friend Pete Wetherbee who always gave moral support, and the hospice people Ann Marie Pianka, Danielle Kavey, and Phylicial who did a great job helping and supporting us. I know I missed someone, I'm sorry, but thank you.
Nancy is survived by her husband Tommy; her son John and his wife Maria; her daughter Tara and her husband Ed; her granddaughter Jessie Surgent and her husband Justin; her grandson Seth; her sister Marion and her brother Richard, both of Nashua, NH; a brother-in-law Bill and his wife Norma; a sister-in-law Susan Bennett; also her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother Helen, her father Vartan, her sister Pat and her husband Haig Gechijian, her brother-in-law Tom Renk, her brother David, and her sister-in-law Florence.
Nancy, I will always love you and I'll meet you in Heaven someday. Love, Tommy
