Obituary of Nancy Cranston Payne
Nancy Louise Cranston Payne a native of Poughkeepsie New York was born in Somerville NJ in Jan 1950. Nancy was the daughter of William and Edith Cranston and the wife of John Payne. As a child and young adult, Nancy was passionate about horseback riding, which was a hobby she eventually shared with her husband attending events and competitions at the county fair. Nancy was actively involved with her children's education as a member of the PTA and as a den mother in the cub scouts. She was elected as a member of the Hyde Park Board of Education. She would often be found cheering at her children s sporting events and volunteering at school fundraisers. As her children began to leave the nest, Nancy s passions shifted to sailing, ballroom dancing, and reading historical-fiction. Throughout her life, she remained proud of her family, her faith, and her country. Nancy left behind a brother, four children, and 11 grandchildren who will all greatly miss her. Visitation will be held at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. on August 27, 2022, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
