MENANDS Nancy A. Pelcher, 70, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Troy, Nancy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Trudy Comeau Pelcher. She was educated in Cohoes schools and graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy in 1971. She attended HVCC and went on to work for the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance where she had a successful career for over 37 years. In her retirement she enjoyed golfing, trips to the beach and most importantly, being with family and friends.
Nancy dealt with many health struggles but always handled them with strength, perseverance and a positive attitude. She was an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She had a beautiful smile and a great laugh. Nancy loved being together with her large family. She adored her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and they adored her right back. She was a very special Aunt.
Nancy is survived by her 9 beloved siblings, Suzanne Pelcher, Christine (David) Wilber, Pamela (Timothy) Forsythe, Joseph (Marjorie) Pelcher, Jean (Russell) Coonradt, Daniel (Sharon) Pelcher, Trudy Parzych, Michael Pelcher and Colleen Jess (Chris Phiel). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Pelcher; her aunt, Joan Long as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Martin Pelcher and her brothers-in-law, Robert Parzych and Thomas Jess.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes and at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
