Nancy Thompson Petty, age 83, of Brandon, MS, went to her heavenly home on April 15, 2025.
She was born in the Mississippi Delta in the small town of Merigold, MS on May 19, 1941. She was a dedicated telephone operator for BellSouth for 34 years (1963-1997).
She was a kind, loving, and caring daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed working in her Daylily beds, reading scripture, and being surrounded by her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was known for her kind and caring heart. Nancy always knew how to make everyone feel welcomed and part of the family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Thornton and Hazel Thompson, 3 brothers Mickey, Rex, and Grover Thompson, and her sister Sally Kuzenski (Ken Kuzenski). She is survived by her husband James “Curtis” Petty, daughter Sheila Boling (Scott Boling), grandchildren Brett Boling (Sarah Boling) and Deanna Carpenter (Michael Carpenter), and 5 wonderful great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Friday, April 18, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with burial immediately following in Crestview Memorial Gardens.
