Nancy Ann Polashak

Nancy Ann Polashak, 81, of Jackson, MI, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Henry Ford Hospice Home. Nancy's family and friends will gather from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Timothy MacDonald will serve as celebrant. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI, at a later date.
She was born on November 4, 1944, in Jackson, MI, to Gerald and Mardella (Wolkens) Smith. Nancy graduated from Vandercook High School. She married the love of her life, Gerald Lee Polashak, who sadly passed away in 2015, after 49 wonderful years together. Nancy obtained an Associate Degree in Business from Jackson Community College. She spent her career as a secretary at the University of Michigan, where she retired from after 15 years of service. Nancy loved to garden; especially flowers, playing bingo, traveling; especially with her family, going shopping and in her younger years, snowmobiling, riding on motorcycles and so much more; she loved trying new outside activities. She would travel often with her husband, for Jerry's Craft, where her husband would do demonstrations. Nancy loved, more than anything, being with her family. Nancy will be remembered as a loving, kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy will be missed by her sons, Carl (Maud) Polashak and Stephen (Carol Hackworth) Polashak; her siblings, Kay, Pat, Sandy, Susan and Dennis; her grandchildren, Cody, Stacie, Christopher, Daniel, Adrienne, Amber and Austin; her 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mardella; her husband, Gerald Polashak; and 12 siblings.
