Nancy Marie (Jones) Quesnell, loving wife and mother, went to Heaven, peacefully on May 30, 2023. Born in Helena, Montana, on July 14, 1942, to Ellis Jones and Theodora (Pepka) Jones, the family moved to Yakima when she was a small child.
She attended St. Joseph's Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1960. Nancy married her neighbor, Michel "Mike" Quesnell, on July 22, 1961, and together they raised three children. Nancy worked in retail and then eventually joined Mike in running the family business, R&Q Parts and Machine. Nancy was a devoted and loving mother and wife, doing everything in her power to keep both the family and the business running smoothly. Nancy loved gardening and racing. She drag raced at Renegade Raceways and was a member of The NASCAR gals at the Yakima Speedway. She ran a nursery in the springtime, called Grandma's Garden, in front of R&Q. Talking flowers and plants to her customers was her happy place!
Nancy miraculously survived a cerebral aneurysm in 2006. Nancy would not let that stroke stop her from living. She surpassed her medical team's expectations by talking, walking, gardening, painting murals on her garage, and loving God and her family even more deeply. She is an inspiration to follow God's will in life with gratitude and love for the gifts the Lord has given us.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Michel "Mike" Quesnell, and has joined him in heaven. She is survived by her children, Michelle Wall (Richard), Kevin Quesnell, Edward Quesnell (Rebecca Lillich). She has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on July 14, 2023, at 10:00am, at Holy Redeemer Church (1707 S. 3rd Ave., Yakima, WA). A Celebration of Life will follow, at Holy Redeemer Hall, for both Nancy and Mike. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm, at Calvary Cemetery. Please drive your Hot Rods and Vintique cars to show your love for both Nancy and Mike.
