Nancy Reeves Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Dec. 20, 2025.
Nancy Ann Reeves, age 57 of Loose Creek, Mo., passed away on December 18, 2025, in SSM St. Mary's Health-Jefferson City, after a valiant battle with her health.
Nancy was a woman whose life was defined by faith, love, creativity, and perseverance. Born on June 16, 1968, in Jefferson City, to the late Charles Wayne and Patsy Ann (Case) Kerr, a lifelong resident of Jefferson City, Missouri. Nancy grew up surrounded by family and community. She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1986 and earned a certificate in administrative services from Nichols Career Center-skills she would use faithfully throughout her career in service to others.
On March 18, 1995, Nancy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Sam Reeves, here in Jefferson City. Introduced through her brother, Mark, their story began with family and remained rooted in it. They were married at Calvary Baptist Church, a place that reflected Nancy's deep faith, which her mother passed to her and continued as a devoted partner of Freshwater Church.
Nancy was known for her strong work ethic and quiet dedication. At the time of her passing, she was employed as a Department Secretary for the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Missouri, where her reliability, organization, and kindness were deeply appreciated. She served as a secretary and provided countless hours of behind-the-scenes office support for various organizations.
Purple was Nancy's favorite color, a fitting reflection of her vibrant spirit. She loved worship music, especially "Can't Steal My Joy," a song that perfectly captured her resilient heart. Creative to her core, Nancy loved crafting and poured joy into handmade projects-most recently, lovingly designed greeting cards. Her family often joked about her involvement in just about every MLM imaginable, from Mary Kay to Paparazzi.
Nancy had a fondness for owls, a collection that reflected her personality-wise, watchful, and caring. She enjoyed watching HGTV, often planning her dream home with her daughter. She also loved comedy movies, food network, The Voice, cooking for those she loved, and experimenting with new recipes (especially protein recipes), always eager to see what her family thought. Above all, her greatest joy was spoiling her granddaughter, Creda, who held the most special place in her heart. She also had a deep love for her first granddog, Duke, who was cherished beyond measure.
Though she traveled often for work, Nancy especially treasured family trips to Branson, New Orleans, and Gatlinburg-times filled with laughter and memories. She was famous for her feisty sense of humor and her classic phrase, "I did not say that."
Nancy was deeply devoted to her family. While her children were growing up, she served on every committee imaginable and never missed an event. Saturdays were sacred to her and her daughter Samantha, who would come spend the day sharing dinner and conversation. Nancy shared a particularly close and loving bond with her mother, a relationship built on trust, devotion, and unconditional love, which is what she instilled in her daughter.
To many, Nancy was the "mother bird"-always watching, always caring, always making sure every child and baby nearby was safe and loved. She had a big heart and a nurturing soul. Ornery and feisty, yet direct and deeply empathetic, Nancy never shied away from the truth but always delivered it with care. She was a fighter, a survivor, and a powerful example of perseverance. Through every hardship, she endured with strength and faith, teaching those around her the true meaning of resilience.
Survivors include her loving husband, Sam Reeves; two children, Samantha Reeves and Clayton Reeves (wife, Emilie Hale) all of Jefferson City; her beloved granddaughter, Creda Reeves; her "weekend son," Gavin Schmitz of Jefferson City; two brothers, Mark Kerr, Randall Kerr and Christy Montgomery; one niece, Carly Fox.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and perseverance-a legacy that will continue to live on in every life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Tommy Kerr.
