Nancy Sampsel Obituary
Nancy J. Sampsel, 83, of Wooster, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Nancy was born July 26, 1941, in Portsmouth to Fred and Jean {Castrop}Weidner.
She married Clyde Sampel Sr. on February 23, 1957. He survives.
Nancy worked for Commercial Savings Bank in Wooster for many years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Creston. She enjoyed flowers, coloring and her dear dog Bella. Nancy loved to spend time with her family.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her husband, Clyde Sr.; children Debbie (Bill) Jackson of Orrville, Clyde Sampsel Jr. of New Jersey; grandchildren Jamie (Brett) Neely of Florida and Lora Wachtel of Orrville; great-grandchildren Nora and Oliver Wachtel; brother James McCurry and sister Marcia (Doug) Jones.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Phillip McCurry and Ted McCurry and sister Becky Campbell.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Nancy-Sampsel) with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 to help them continue compassionate care to others.
Family wishes to thank Danbury of Wooster for their care the last year and a half and to Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice for their compassion in Nancy’s final hours.
