Yvonne Sampsel

Yvonne Sampsel passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, of cardiac arrest. She was 77 years old. She was the daughter of Dorthea, (nee Baur). and Jake Polfliet who predeceased her. Yvonne was a retired teacher. She taught at the George Washington Elementary School in Bristol Township for more than three decades.
Yvonne maintained relationships with colleagues, parents, and former students. She enjoyed hearing about their lives and accomplishments. She would say that she was living vicariously through them. While in St. Mary's Hospital, she received phone calls and notes, as well as visitors who reminisced with her and updated her about their families, friends and their lives. She loved the Bucks County area and extolled being born and bred in and around Bristol, PA.
One of Yvonne's favorite hobbies was gardening. She religiously planted beautiful baskets and pots that were the envy of her fellow horticulturalists. It was in her garden that she enjoyed nature and its serenity. She did, however, delight in meeting friends for lunch in her favorite haunts. Carlucci's Grill, where she had her own table, was one of them. But we can't overlook Originals in Morrisville, or Cesare's in Bristol where she enjoyed many meals with friends and family.
Yvonne was also a cat lover who adored her cats Lovey and Snooky. They brought joy to her life.
She is survived by cousins Bill, Donna, Bobby and Emily MacDonald of Rock Hill, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Yvonne may be made to the American Lung Cancer Society.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Memories may be shared online at the Molden Funeral Home website: www.moldenfuneralchapel.com.
