Mary F Sampsel, 62, of Wooster, passed away August 28, 2025 at Lifecare Hospice. She was born on December 12, 1962, in Akron to Edward and Juanita (nee Keatley) Clark and live most of her life in Reedsburg. Mary could not sit still: She had a hardworking, caring heart, and it showed in her work as a home health aide. She operated several businesses such as a landscaping service and Ace Floor Cleaning & More.

Mary was a strong supporter of our Country's veterans, especially those of the Vietnam Era. She helped start Wayne County's Silent Watch and served as president of Chapter 255 of the Association of Vietnam Veterans of America.

She enjoyed being a school bus driver, visiting America's oceans and beaches, was a fierce, flag-loving patriot, and an angel and caregiver to all in her family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 25 years Jeffrey "Mr Wilson" Sampsel, daughter Samantha "Angel" (Eric "Homie") Hood, son Dennis Thornhill Jr, grandson Zander "Pickle" Patrick, step-grandson Lucas "Cucumber" Hood, adopted grandchildren Draiden "Corndog" and Delaney "Banana", friends Connie and Denice, best friend Patty-Girl, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harry (Debbie) Clark, Kenny "Bob" (Tonna) Clark, sister Vikki Friend, and grandson Landon Patrick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 at 10:30am at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr, Wooster. with Rev. Dana Keirstead officiating.

Burial will follow immediately after at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm, and one hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to AVVA Association of Vietnam Veterans of America) Ohio Chapter 255, P.O. Box 324 Wooster, Ohio 44691.
