Nancy was born November 28, 1949 in Detroit, the daughter of Edwin Stewart and Margie Elease (Hunter) Stewart. She married Roger Schmedlen on September 20, 1975. Nancy was a graduate of U of M, Ross School of Business. Throughout her career she was a private investigator, CPA, and Forensic Accountant. She was proud of restoring their old farmhouse and enjoyed the process. Alongside her husband Roger was an avid cat owner
Nancy is survived by: her daughter, Laura Schmedlen Kennedy; three granddaughters, Meghan (Ross) Tomsic, Madison (Jordan) Wakefield, Violet Kennedy; three great grandchildren, Lennon Wakefield, Jack Tomsic, Monroe Tomsic; son-in-law, William Binion; brother, Ronald Stewart; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Schmedlen; daughter, Kimberly Foster Binion; and brother, Daniel Stewart.
Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
