Nancy A. Scott, 76, of Hutchinson, died June 18, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born November 14, 1948, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Paul and Evelyn Auger.
Nancy graduated from Madonna High School in Wichita and received her bachelor's degree from Wichita State University and her Master's in Public Administration from Wichita State University. She was the city administrator for the cities of Maize and Chanute before becoming Planning and Development Director for the city of Hutchinson in 1998. She retired in 2013.
Nancy was instrumental in forming Hutchinson Animal Shelter, serving on its board. She was a master gardener and enjoyed creating mosaic art. Nancy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and member and past president of PEO HQ. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her dogs.
On November 27, 1970, Nancy married Alan W. Scott, in Wichita. They shared nearly 55 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: her daughter, Nicole Scott of Hutchinson; son, Andrew Scott and wife Emily Hays-Scott of Wichita; grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Michael Scott, Ella Scott; brother-in-law, Keith Langholz; nephews, Chris, Jeff, and Todd Langholz; and beloved German Shepherd, Samuel "Sammy."
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Lynne Langholz; and beloved Alaskan Husky, Sarah, and Samoyed, Mia.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with Rev. Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th St. North, Wichita.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beyond Barriers or Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
