Nancy Lynn Skillman, a devoted wife, mother, sister, nana, and a treasured member of the Indianapolis community, passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on April 1, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nancy was known for her infectious love for life and her unwavering dedication to her family.
Nancy's life was one rich in love and joy, shared with her beloved spouse of 46 years, Steve L. Skillman, and their children, Neil (Liz) Skillman, Nicole Couch, and Crystal Skillman. Her love and legacy continue to thrive through her cherished grandchildren: Morgan Wagner, Madison Couch, Mason Couch, Addilyn Skillman, and Makenzie Skillman. She also leaves behind her dear brothers, Mark Rushton III and Bill (Mistee) Rushton, along with her sisters, Rhonda (Terry) Hochgesang and Diane (Kevin) Brady. Nancy was preceded in death by her caring parents, George M. Rushton Jr. and Constance Rushton.
For 47 years, Nancy was a respected and dedicated employee at Adidas, where she worked as a manager in the embroidery department. Her commitment to her work was evident to all who knew her, and her positive influence was felt throughout the company.
Nancy's passion for life extended to her interests, which included gardening, crafting, and traveling. She found great joy in nurturing her garden, creating beautiful crafts, and exploring new places with her family. But above all, her greatest pleasure was in the time spent surrounded by her loved ones, creating memories that they will cherish forever.
Nancy Skillman's strength, resilience, faith and positivity throughout her journey has been undeniable. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye, yet with gratitude for the years of joy she brought to so many. Nancy's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, as her memory is etched in our hearts forever. The world is indeed a better place for having been graced with her presence.
Life celebration will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, November 22 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Franklin Township Chapel 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis with a memorial gathering following service until 4:00pm.
